L-Theanine, a unique amino acid compound found in green tea, is noted for its calming benefits.
Theanine helps support GABA and the inhibitory system to prevent excessive neurotransmitter stimulation. This amino acid has been studied for its ability to reduce glutamate uptake and balance serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine excretion. It has been demonstrated to stimulate alpha brain wave activity and promote relaxation without drowsiness.
